"My aim is to achieve some measure of enchantment through sound, or at the least to create atmospheres and evoke moods that remove the listener from daily life.

Technically, my approach to music is grounded in analog textures as opposed to generating sounds electronically. For example I will rarely use a synthesizer, but will always use real drums and real percussive instruments. When sampling, I try to stick with homemade sources or else sources taken from analog recordings - usually vintage recordings.  My hope is that this musically organic approach will serve to offer listeners a unique and uncanny listening experience."  - TT

In 2012,

at the age of 45, Todd released his first album (titled Medicine Show) on Australia's Hidden Shoal label.

Prior to 2012, Todd had been under way as a musician and producer, collaborating with Robert Pollard and brother Tim Tobias in a variety of bands and projects (see discography below). In 2014, Todd's second album Impossible Cities was jointly released by Hidden Shoal and Tiny Room Records based in The Netherlands. Since then Todd been on the artist roster at both labels. Todd's aim as a musician is to make cinema for the ears. Each of Todd's albums is marked by a theme or distinct atmosphere and set of moods. Styles range from sleepy ambient to high energy rock.
